1.How does an idea come for a story come to you?

I am really inspired by real life. My daily circumstances and situations trigger me to conceptualise my story ideas. For me it sure is reel life follows real life. 

2.At what age did you start writing?

I started writing from ever since I could hold a pen. I still remember scribbling poems when I was a little kiddo. I would say by the age of 7 I was a writer. 

3.Is this your first book?

I have written 4 books but yes this is my first published book. 

4.What is the story in ‘Yes, You Can Be A Viral Reality Show Star‘ about?

It’s a self help book that helps reality show aspirants get a road map in realising their dream of making it in the showbizz industry. That’s why the name, Yes you can be a viral reality show star. 

5.Why did you name your book as ‘Yes, You Can Be A Viral Reality Show Star‘?

After Big Boss when I won the best entertainer on TV big boss season 5 , everywhere I went everyone used to ask me for tips and tricks that could help them become a reality show star. Every event or gathering I was asked the same question so I decided to write a book about it. 

6.Which is your favourite chapter from this book?

The chapter titled mastering the craft and going for the kill where I reveal all the secrets reality show producers don’t want you to know. 

7.What do you think is more important- the words used or the feelings?

The feelings that are expressed through the words. 

8.If a favourite character of your favourite book comes alive in front of you, what would you say?

I would say hello, let’s go on a vacation together! 

9.Is there a particular time of the day when you write your ideas? When?

I like to write at night, by the time I am done with my days chores, my mind is free to create, to express and pen down my thoughts. 

10.Just like you are an inspiration to others, who is/are your inspiration?

Nature is my biggest inspiration. When I sit in my garden listening to the chirping of birds… Seeing the trees sway in the breeze, the gurgling sound made by the fountain I feel truly inspired! 

11.What do you consider to be your biggest accomplishment?

My first book, Yes you can be a viral reality show star becoming an Amazon bestseller within hours of its release. As well as Hollywood actors like Kal Penn and glam girl Khloe Kardashian quoting my dialouges from my worldwide viral meme, Pooja what is this behaviour. 

12.They say, “Nobody can judge you, as much as you yourself can.” Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

Ten years from now I see a library of books behind me. Going by my passion for writing I think there are many book ideas that I would like to bring into being. 

13.What would you do if you weren’t into writing?

I am a producer, an actor, an anchor along with being an author. So if I weren’t an author I would focus more on the other aspects of my career like producing, acting and anchoring. 

14.How do you react to the reviews that you get about your writing from your readers?

Up until now I have been inundated with five star reviews of my book. I feel heartened and thrilled to read these reviews as they are literally the fruits of my labour. It has taken me five years to complete this book which I have rewritten three times over. 

16.Who is your favourite author?

Jeffery archer. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Jaipur literary fest. In fact he was very warm and even gave me a peck. 

17.List any 2 books that you would recommend to our readers.

18.Is there one specific subject you would never write about? What would that be?

There is nothing under the sun that I can’t write about. So I would never set boundaries or restrict myself from writing about any topic. I am open to writing about anything. 

19.Which is your favourite genre? Why?

Self help definitely as it is empowering. 

20.Which genre, according to you, is the most difficult to write?

Biographies are the toughest to write as they literally cover a life arch which can be a very time-consuming and meticulous task. 

21.Are you working on your next? What is it about?

I am currently working on the audiobook of my first book, Yes you can be a viral reality show star. Simultaneously I am editing the hindi translation, Jee haan aap bhi viral reality show star ban sakte hai. As india is 70 percent hindi speaking villages I want to reach out to reality show aspirants and help make their dreams come true with my book. 

22.What is your message to other budding poets/writers?

My message to other budding writers is to not give up. It can be a strenuous journey to becoming a published author. But try to enjoy the process and don’t take the ups and downs along the way too seriously.
